Being a Sister or Brother
Being a Religious Sister or
Brother means living in a community and sharing a common vision of
what can be done for the Church and God's people. There are
a great variety of religious orders, for both men and women.
The type of ministry they offer is wide and embracing and has
changed a great deal in recent years, but the vows have remained
the same. They share their lives together (celibacy) they
share their talents and skills (poverty) and they do this in unity
and harmony (obedience). There are several orders that are
totally contemplative, praying for the needs of the church and the
world. What skills and
talents have you got to share with others?
What work would you like to do?
Would you like to know more about the life of a
religious sister or brother?
