Caring groups

Care for those who are sick or housebound.

Pastoral care is given to those who are sick or housebound.

If you, or someone you know requires pastoral care (or perhaps you would like to help in the Ministry!) please do not hesitate to e-mail the Parish Office, or phone (09) 520-1226.

  • Communion Ministers take Holy Communion to those who cannot come to the Parish Church, especially on Sundays. The sick and elderly have a lot of wisdom to share with the Parish. A caring group of men and women also regularly visit the rest homes and so share the vitality of the Parish with others.
  • The Legion of Mary does quiet but effective work.
  • There are prayer groups and study groups in the parish.
  • There are some people with addictions (diseases) to alcohol, Gambling, Sex, pornography. There are ways out of these! The 12 Step Recovery Programme is very effective. Talk with Monsignor Arahill for details.
  • Leaving a bequest to the parish means your involvement in the ministry and caring continues.

Further details on these topics are available from the Parish Office.

ADVENT

The Church's year is divided into seasons. We are now in the season of ordinary time, characterised by the priest (usually) wearing green vestments at Mass.

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

John 10:10

Lord, I offer you my seeking;
show me the way.
I offer you my doubts;
lead me to trust in you.
I offer you my hurts;
heal me.
I offer you my fears;
give me hope.
I offer you my loneliness;
welcome me.
I offer you my heart;
warm it with love.
I offer you my journey;
lead me home where
I can live in your justice, peace and love.
