Welcome to St Michael's School

Principal's Welcome

A very warm welcome to St Michael’s Catholic School.  At St Michael’s we constantly strive to live by our vision statement and within the Josephite Charism with its focus on the human dimension, both student, family and staff.  The staff at our School are committed to Catholic Education within an environment which allows each child to reach their full potential..

The Board of Trustees are dedicated to supporting all areas of the schools governance and are supportive of the drive for high achievement.  We hope your association with St Michael’s Catholic School will be a fruitful one as when we enroll your child we also enroll your family.  We are keen to foster a close relationship between home and school as we all work together in the holistic education of your child.

We encourage and welcome your participation in our many school events through the year and if you would like to meet your child’s teacher please make an appointment time outside of the hours of 8.30am and 3.00pm.

Our programmes cater to the individual needs of each child and I hope that their experience at St Michael’s Catholic School will be a positive and valuable one.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any further assistance.

Parish Priest's Welcome

Welcome to those who are associated with the School, parents, teachers, staff, and children We all acknowledge the strong link between Family, Parish, and School; and we need to continue fostering this. We certainly need to affirm that St Michael's is a Catholic school.

The new Religious Education curriculum continues to be used in the school. As those who have used it previously will know, it requires a good deal of parental involvement.

Sunday Mass continues to be THE link between us all. Preparing our children through Parish sponsored programmes for Confirmation and First Communion always affirms our common vision.

The Parish, through its Youth Ministry will continue to nurture the faith of your children even when they have left St Michael's School. Please feel free to contact me if you ever wish to discuss matters of faith, especially as they affect your relationship with the School and Parish.

Parish Priest

LENT

We are in the Church Season called Lent characterised by the priest  (usually) wearing purple vestments at Mass.

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

John 10:10

God's Dream for me

Before
the world was made,
I was
in the mind of God.
God knew me.
God chose me.
God loved me.
God designed me
and desired me
just as I am.

God has a dream
for me now,
now for my life
and growth,
for my holiness
and wholeness.
No-one else
in the entire universe can fulfil
that dream of God,
except me.

To become myself,
my true self,
that is my life's work.
To grow is to change,
to be perfect
is to change often,
and
as long as I live
inner strength is possible.

To allow to shine forth
in all the world
that unique image of God that I am,
that hidden beauty
deep within my soul,
that truth which
I alone speak,
that love which
only my heart
is capable of giving.

To become myself
my true self....
my best self...
in Jesus...
open to God...
to live
to the world.
That is my vocation.
That is what I desire.
That for me is holiness.
