Welcome to St Michael's School

Principal's Welcome

St Michael's is extremely well served by dedicated, enthusiastic groups and individuals who have the children's education and development foremost in their thoughts and efforts.

The Catholic Character of the School is paramount and one of the particular strengths of this character is the strong bond and co-operation that exists among the School, Family and Parish, with each person having a responsibility to support and enhance this relationship.

The new Religious Education Curriculum statement, has been fully introduced into our classes. The new statement has already proved very successful with the teachers and children in the junior classes, and we look forward to its further implementation within the school.

There will be many varied curricular and extra-curricular activities that the children will participate in during the course of the year, and I encourage each child to be enthusiastic, hard-working, thoughtful and well-mannered in all aspects of school life.

Once again on behalf of the staff, welcome to St Michael's, and we hope and pray that the children will find success and satisfaction in their daily school life as each year unfolds.

Parish Priest's Welcome

Welcome to those who are associated with the School, parents, teachers, staff, and children We all acknowledge the strong link between Family, Parish, and School; and we need to continue fostering this. We certainly need to affirm that St Michael's is that Catholic school.

The new Religious Education curriculum continues to be used in the school. As those who have used it previously will know, it requires a good deal of parental involvement.

Sunday Mass continues to be THE link between us all. Preparing our children through Parish sponsored programmes for Confirmation and First Communion always affirms our common vision.

The Parish, through its Youth Ministry will continue to nurture the faith of your children even when they have left St Michael's School. Please feel free to contact me if you ever wish to discuss matters of faith, especially as they affect your relationship with the School and Parish.

Monsignor Brian Arahill
Parish Priest

ADVENT

The Church's year is divided into seasons. We are now in the season of ordinary time, characterised by the priest (usually) wearing green vestments at Mass.

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

John 10:10

Lord, I offer you my seeking;
show me the way.
I offer you my doubts;
lead me to trust in you.
I offer you my hurts;
heal me.
I offer you my fears;
give me hope.
I offer you my loneliness;
welcome me.
I offer you my heart;
warm it with love.
I offer you my journey;
lead me home where
I can live in your justice, peace and love.
