Anne has been a member
of the Parish Pastoral Council for 3 years. During her
term, she has been involved in the planning of the Parish Forum
(2004) the Parish Mission (2005) and Monsignor's Golden Jubilee
of Ordination (2006)Anne enjoys the opportunity to be involved
in Parish life and hopes to make St Michael's a Parish where "it

School and is now at Sacred Heart College. |

Pauline Young |
|
My formative years were at St Michael's and Baradene College.
I trained as a nurse at St Mary's in London and got my BSc (Hons)
degree in midwifery from Queen Charlotte's in London. In
total I have spent 14 years in Auckland. I was confirmed
at St Michael's, went to youth group and married Alistair here.
Our boys, Felix and Louchlan were baptised at St Michael's. All who know me, know that I
am passionate, honest and believe in what I know. That is
to be open, daily striving and giving - Giving the best to
my community in a Christ- like compassionate way. As I
tell our boys: "every day is a new day". |
|
Patrick Ryoo |
|
My family consists of my beloved wife Rosaria and two sons
Michael and William. Michael graduated from St Michael's
School, went to King's Prep and is now attending Auckland
Grammar. William is currently at St Michael's School.
Rosaria worked as a nurse in the USA but now is devoted to
nurturing our sons and maintaining a busy household. Since
immigrating in 1993 we have attended this Church. When I
arrived I completed a conjoint degree of BA in Mandarin and
Japanese and completed a Secondary Teaching Diploma.
Initially I taught at King's College and am now teaching at
Pinehurst School. I administer the Altar Service Group, am a
minister of Holy Communion and am also a collector. |
|
Mike Fitzmaurice |
|
I have always lived in St Michael's Parish and attended St
Michael's School and received the sacraments of Baptism,
Confirmation, Reconciliation, First Eucharist and was married at
St Michael's. Christine and I have two daughters, one at
St Mary's Primary School and the other at Baradene College.
I work in IT for Tower and have my own website hosting company.
I am on the Board of Trustees for St Mary's, secretary of the
Downhill Ski Club and on the organising committee for the St
Peter's College Annual Scholarship Fundraising Dinner. I
am involved in the counting and collecting ministries in the
Parish |

Tina Fitness |
|
Tina was born in Argentina and educated in England. She
came to New Zealand 34 years ago and has been a member of St
Michael's Parish for 30 years. Tina has 4 children and is
presently working as a medical secretary. She is well
known in the PArish, especially to the 8.00am Mass goers - and
faithfully sets up for the celebration of the Eucharist every
week. She has generously accepted the invitation to be a
member of the PArish Pastoral Council. |
|
Gary McLoughlin |
|
The McLoughlin family has been part of this Parish since Lynne
and Gary's arrival in New Zealand in 1987. Involvement
with the community was strengthened with Joanna and Dylan at St
Michael's School, where they are presently in Year 6. St
Michael's Parish and School represents a convergence of the
spiritual, educational and social influences which affect our
lives. Milestone family events such as Baptisms and First
Communions have been celebrated within the Parish. Gary is
an accountant in professional practice, married to Lynne, who
converted to the Catholic faith at the time of their marriage
some 22 years ago. Their interests include raising a young
family, travel and homemaking. |

Lian de Charmoy |
|
On arriving in New Zealand from South Africa in January 2002, we
met Monsignor on our first Sunday and life the proverbial
fisherman, he hooked us in. Our younger daughter, Kelly,
spent 2 years at St Michael's School and is now in Year 10 at
Baradene. I helped on the school PTA, meeting many mothers
and learning all about sausage sizzle in no time. I now
work at St Ignatious Primary School as a teacher aid. Our
eledest daughter Caitlin has just finished her 7th form at
Baradene and is excited about attending university. My
husband Noel and I have been blessed in many ways since our
arrival, most meaningful are the friends we have made through
the two school communities. Without their support and
kindness we would not have felt so at home so quickly.

John Durkin |
|
I have attended St Michael's now for 5 years or so, wishing to
introduce my children to the Church and re-introduce myself!
I have 4 boys from 14 to 7 years of age, 2 at Sacred Heart
College. My wife Nicky is a teacher and also helps with St
Michael's children's groups. I am an architect with my own
business in town. We undertake a lot of residential work,
dealing with people on their own projects, which I enjoy.
As Youth Director at Eastern Suburbs FC, I help organise soccer
programmes for children aged 10 -17. I also enjoy golf and
am a member of the Remuera Golf Club. As a relatively
recent "returning Catholic" I believe St Michael's has much to
offer the community in terms of leadership and example. We
touch many lives directly and indirectly and can through our
programmes and activities, encourage people to learn more of the
Church's teachings and foster greater understanding of the
stories of Jesus as they relate to modern life. |

Margaret van Meeuwen |
|
I have been a
member of the Parish since the late 1980's but didn't become
actively involved until my son Jonathan started at St Michael's
School. Jonathan is now 12 and in year 8 at Sacred Heart
College and Jamie (3) will arrive to terrorise the teachers at
St Michael's School in 2008. I have been married to John
for nearly 17 years but as he is the non-Catholic in the family,
you will only rarely see him at Mass. I am a school
teacher and am currently HOD English at Diocesan School for
Girls. I have been able to use some of my skills helping
out with Children's Liturgy and as a reader and am pleased to
serve on the Parish Pastoral Council. |

ADVENT |
|
The Church's year is divided into seasons. We are now in the
season of ordinary time, characterised by the priest (usually) wearing green
vestments at Mass.
|
|
"I have come that they may have life, and have it
to the full."

Lord, I offer you my seeking;
show me the way.
I offer you my doubts;
lead me to trust in you.
I offer you my hurts;
heal me.
I offer you my fears;
give me hope.
I offer you my loneliness;
welcome me.
I offer you my heart;
warm it with love.
I offer you my journey;
lead me home where
I can live in your justice, peace and love. |
